COSTS:
The program attracts VET funding, We charge the current band funding per student, meaning that the program can be run by schools on a cost neutral basis. We also charge the materials fee as set by VCAA. Students must be enrolled, by the school, into VASS prior to relevant VCAA cut off dates to receive funding. School invoicing is for a minimum class size of 15 (per trainer)
*School students must be made aware that enrolment in this course will affect their available school VET funding, students school speak to their schools VET coordinator for more information.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Be in year 10 – 12 and still attending secondary school
Have a basic level of English reading, writing & maths skills to a year 10 standard
Read our Student handbook before enrolling in our course
Attend & participate in scheduled training and assessment tasks
Follow safe work practices
Have the mobility to get down onto the floor to complete 2 mins of uninterrupted CPR on our training Mannequins
Practice manual handling techniques
Practice first aid techniques using first aid equipment
Practice Infection control techniques
The Trainer requires access to a classroom and access to the following facilities, in safe working order
– Chairs & tables
– Whiteboard/ digital board
– Projector & screen, speakers
– Computers or individual tablet/laptops, internet
Training:
Students have weekly class, e-learning modules and practical sessions
ASSESSMENTS:
Some units are clustered to ensure a smooth transition throughout the course and to minimise repetition of course context.
All the units in this course contain a mixture of both theory and practical based assessment tasks
This includes:

•HHA certificate online
•Workplace documents
•Workplace style meetings

The course is delivered on school premises, in school time (8am – 5pm)
